Medium: Acrylic on 3/16 foam art-board.
Painting size: Approx. 16 x 20 inches.
Frame: This painting comes mounted in a custom made “Floating Frame.” It is made from 5/16 inch thick composite floor planking with a real wood look and feel, and reinforced with half inch composite wood strips painted black. The painting on foam art-board is secured to the frame with white upholstery tacks (removable should the painting need to be removed). The flat frame face (approx. 21 x 25 x 3.5 inches) is raised forward 1/2 inch away from the face of the painting which gives it a striking 3-dimensional look. The frame’s inside opening dimensions are smaller (approx. 14 x 18). The 5/16 inch thick frame stands approx. 1.5 inches out from the wall that it is hung on.
As result of these above features, the frame appears to be floating in midair away from the wall, and also floating in front of the painting! This unique custom made frame has an estimated value of between $80 to $120. The weight of the frame with the picture is about 5 pounds. It includes a wire hanger.
Other: Painted on slightly bent foam art board. Painted foam art-board seldom lies completely flat. This painting is framed to help hold the painting as flat as possible. Although hardly ever noticeable when the picture is hanging, one of the miter joints in the frame is slightly flawed, therefore a $75 discount was deducted when setting the price of this framed painting.
